Confirmation is the process through which, and the event where, a student takes on the responsibility for his or her own Christian faith by publicly reaffirming their baptismal vows.
Our Confirmation class prepares students to make the public vow to “promise, according to the grace given to you, to keep God’s holy will and commandments and walk in the same all the days of your life as a faithful member of Christ’s holy church.” This is a transitional point in a person’s life during which they claim their own faith and move beyond reliance on their parents for their spiritual values and beliefs.
Our 6th graders meet during the school year on Sunday mornings and evenings. We begin with summer team building. During the school year, we attend a fall and spring retreat, take field trips to other churches, and are mentored by older adults all while learning about our United Methodist heritage.
