Get Involved

There Are Many Ways to Get Involved at Buncombe Street!

Upon joining the United Methodist Church, all members make a promise to uphold it by their “prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.” This is just our way of saying that we want more than just your name on our roll.

We want you to be involved in the life of the church and to reflect faithfully what it means to be the Body of Christ.

  • Prayers – We ask you to pray for us and with us. We want you to connect with God by spending time with Him in prayer.
  • Presence – We want to see you and to know you. We can’t know you if you aren’t here and actively engaged in the life of the church, and you can’t be exposed to the teaching and the fellowship that happens at Buncombe Street if you’re not here and participating.
  • Gifts – God calls us to be faithful givers. Because everything we have comes from God, it is right that we return to Him some of the gifts we’ve received. We challenge our members to take stock of the gifts God has given each of us – gifts of time, talent, and treasure – and return a portion of each of those gifts to the church.
  • Service – We offer many avenues of service – to serve the church and to serve our fellow man. There are so many opportunities for service at Buncombe Street, and we would love to work with you to find the perfect fit for your gifts and talents.
  • Witness – As much as we want you here at Buncombe Street, we also want you out in the world, ministering to those who are hurting and hungry for a relationship with Christ.
