Rev. Karen Jones

Associate Minister of Christian Education

Rev. Karen Jones is one of the Associate Ministers at BSUMC and oversees Christian Education. She received her B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of South Carolina and her Master of Divinity from Candler School of Divinity at Emory. Karen was ordained in 2011 and served as an Associate Minister at Central UMC in Spartanburg and John Wesley UMC in Charleston before being appointed to Buncombe Street UMC in 2020. Karen is called as an ordained deacon to lead and equip in servant ministry through Christian Education, and it is her passion to develop discipleship opportunities for all ages and stages of faith.

Karen lives in Taylors with her husband, who is also an ordained deacon, and her two children. She enjoys gardening, building projects, game nights, and picking up new hobbies.
