Director of Youth Ministries
Andy and his wife Heidi have two daughters, Lucy and Rosie. They also consider themselves parents to a mostly-sweet cat, Bijou, and a frisky dog named Cooper. Prior to joining the BSUMC staff in the summer of 2018, the Fox family lived in New Orleans, LA. Andy spent his early years in Oklahoma City before moving to Shreveport, LA, for high school. His mother grew up in Landrum, SC, however, and he has many aunts, uncles, and cousins that still live in the Greenville/Spartanburg area. Returning to the Greenville area has brought back many great memories of long car trips to visit family. Andy grew up camping, hiking, biking, and playing sports and is excited to have such great access to these kinds of activities again. He is a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs baseball team.
Andy has been serving in some form of youth ministry capacity for the last twenty-one years. He has worked in small churches, medium-sized churches, large churches, and in an urban mission organization. One of the main reasons that he loves working with teenagers is that, like infants, teenagers are in one of the biggest growth stages in human development. They aren’t quite set in their ways and still view the world with curiosity, questioning why things are the way they are. Andy believes this is beautiful and needed, especially in the church.
